About the role

Our vision

Funding should not fail because of bureaucracy. We want a world where organisations put their energy where it is needed – into their projects and their impact, not into funding logic, forms and administration.

Our mission

We are building the digital infrastructure for grant funding: research across 18,000+ programmes, AI-supported analysis and application drafting, review by funding experts and ongoing grant management. AI takes on what scales – people decide where experience and judgement matter.

Your role

You help build the product this vision runs on – backend, frontend and the AI pipeline at the core of the platform. You work directly with our CTO, who already has an exit behind him, and learn first-hand how modern software gets built: clean, fast, AI-native.

This is a role for someone early in their career who wants real responsibility – and wants to learn even more. Your work does not end up in a drawer: what you build is what organisations use to get their projects funded.

What you'll do

Ship features end-to-end – from backend to user interface, with close guidance at first and growing independence over time

Help build our AI pipeline: prompt engineering, context management, evaluations – AI development from week one

Trace and fix bugs in production (Sentry, CloudWatch, Postgres) – debugging is the fastest way to truly understand a system

Work closely with our CTO and the grant team – you build from real user problems, not abstract tickets

Use code reviews as a learning tool: you get a lot of feedback, and over time you give it too

How we'll measure success

Our central benchmark is the time from starting a new project to a finished, submitted application. In the first months, success means shipping smaller features reliably and becoming more independent week by week. After half a year you own entire features on your own and contribute measurably to that cycle time.

Growth path

This role is designed as a springboard. You start with a lot of mentoring and grow towards independent ownership – with a clear path to a senior role if you want it. We deliberately invest in people early in their careers.

Nice to have

First experience with AI tools and LLM APIs – university or side projects count

German from B1 – our product and customers are German-speaking; the team works bilingually

A side project, an open-source contribution, or something you built on your own initiative

What you bring

  • 1–3 years as a software engineer, or fresh out of university with strong projects — what you've built matters more than the number of years
  • Solid fundamentals in TypeScript/JavaScript and curiosity about the whole stack (React on the frontend, Node/Express on the backend, Postgres, AWS)
  • You want to learn how production software is built, and you treat feedback as a gift
  • High self-motivation: you dig into problems rather than waiting for instructions
  • AI-native: tools like Claude Code or Cursor are a natural part of how you work
  • A user-first mindset — you want what you build to work for real people

What we offer

  • Direct mentoring from our CTO (already one exit behind him) — you learn modern software engineering first-hand
  • A steep learning curve: modern stack, AI-native development, real production ownership from day one
  • Fully remote possible
  • Competitive entry-level salary and participation in company success
  • A clear development path towards a senior role
  • Professional development budget of €2,000 per year
  • A scalable SaaS product with clear market demand and genuine social impact
  • Short decision paths and direct collaboration with the leadership team
  • Team events and optional workations

Our values

Our values are how decisions get made — even when the founders aren't in the room.

Customer First

We choose the customer's success even when it means doing unglamorous work — and we tell customers no when it serves them.

Complete Ownership

We own problems, not tasks — even when the problem isn't in our job description. Proposals, not diagnoses; no delegating upwards.

Ship, Learn, Repeat

We choose speed and iteration even when it means rough edges and visible mistakes. Do it by hand first, then automate.

One Team

We assume the best of each other even when it would be easier to assign blame — and respect includes saying uncomfortable things early.
