Your role
You build the product this vision runs on. As a Senior Software Engineer you work end-to-end on AntragPlus – backend, frontend, infrastructure and the AI pipeline at the core of the platform.
You are one of our first engineering hires: you own problems completely, from the conversation with our grant team all the way to production, and you shape how we work technically and which standards we set. Not everything here is fully defined yet – that is deliberate. If you see a better solution, we do not expect you to wait for a ticket.
What you'll do
Build the product: ship features end-to-end on your own responsibility – including the user interface
Advance the AI: prompt engineering, context management, cost control, multi-provider setup (Bedrock, Anthropic, OpenAI)
Build our evaluation practice: own prompt quality, model selection and catching regressions
Run production: operate and debug the live environment (Sentry, CloudWatch, Postgres performance)
Build from real problems: work closely with our grant team – you build from user problems, not from tickets
Shape engineering: architecture, code quality, standards and the technical roadmap
How we'll measure success
Our central benchmark is the time from starting a new project to a finished, submitted application. Every piece of work – shipped features, platform reliability, the quality of our AI output, every automated manual step – feeds into that cycle time. And ultimately into what really matters: our customers' ability to get their projects funded.

Experience with AI agents and tool-calling workflows in production
Experience with Terraform
What you bring
- Several years with TypeScript and Node, plus real depth in Postgres (JSONB, query performance, migrations)
- Confidence across the stack: Next.js 15 / React Query on the frontend, Express and BullMQ on the backend, AWS (ECS, RDS, Terraform) for infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with AI pipelines in production — beyond simply calling an API
- Strong debugging instinct in live systems
- High autonomy: you ship without hand-holding and close the loop on problems yourself
- A usability-first mindset — we have no designer; you ship interfaces that genuinely work for grant writers
- AI-native: tools like Claude Code or Cursor are part of how you work
